Excursions and Fieldwork 2022

A field trip from Yale University visited the CMCK and the palaeontological sites in the Karonga District from 20.-25.7. The group of about 25 people (including other students from Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa) spent 2 days in Karonga at the museum, and 3 days in the field (mainly Uraha and Malema). After a delay of 2 years, palaeontological field work took place from 7.-28. September with a team from Frankfurt (Senckenberg) and Darmstadt (Hessisches Landesmuseum), during which several new fossil locations were investigated. At the same time, in cooperation with the CMCK, work began on digitising the collection there.
